Michael Lynn Parkinson

Attorney Michael Lynn Parkinson has owned and managed his own law practice in Lafayette for 20 years.  He is a graduate of West Lafayette High School and obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Purdue University’s Department of History, with minor concentrations in Holocaust Studies and Political Science.  In 1993 he obtained his law degree from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach.  He has worked for Lafayette’s Community College as an adjunct professor of American History and for the Catholic Diocese in Lafayette as an assistant to its canon law tribunal.   He has published several articles on history and constitutional law and was recently credited for his contributions to the law review article Nuremberg and the Crime of Abortion.    His legal career has concentrated in the areas of federal courts, as well as wills, trusts and estate practice.    He has accepted numerous appointments from the federal courts in Indiana to represent plaintiffs in civil rights and habeas corpus cases.  He and his wife are members of St. Ann Catholic Church in Lafayette.

Mr. Parkinson is the third generation of Parkinson attorneys in Lafayette.  His late grandfather, William Lynn Parkinson, was judge of the Tippecanoe County Circuit Court, the U.S. District Court and Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
